How Saying Yes to Yourself Changes Everything!
Sep 9, 2025 | By: Brooke Allred
Let’s talk about the kind of yes that changes your life.
Not the polite yes.
Not the convenient yes.
Not the yes you give once everything feels safe and secure and perfectly timed.
I’m talking about the kind of yes you say through a lump in your throat.
The kind you say with trembling hands, before your brain has time to talk you out of it.
The kind of yes that changes you, even before the thing you’re saying yes to ever happens.
The Origin of Runamuk—and the Yes That Started It All
Thirteen years ago, I said yes to something that terrified me.
I had no studio. No backup plan. No "perfect timing."
What I did have was a camera, some makeup brushes, a history of hiding my own light, and a relentless spark in my gut whispering: You have to do this.
I didn’t know what I was building yet. I just knew I was done waiting to feel ready.
And saying yes to that moment—that completely unprepared, what-the-hell-am-I-doing moment—led me here. To this studio. This community. This sisterhood. To YOU.
The Truth Is… You’re Never Going to Feel Ready
That’s not a flaw. It’s being human.
The women who walk into my studio? 99% of them don’t feel ready either.
They almost canceled. They worried they weren’t “photogenic.” They thought they should lose weight, gain confidence, or get their life together first.
But they showed up anyway.
And something shifted.
That’s the magic of saying yes to yourself in a moment where everything in you wants to shrink back.
You expand instead.
You don’t need to have it all together to step into your power.
You just have to say yes to the opportunity to see yourself differently.
Saying Yes Isn’t Just a Decision—It’s a Portal
When you say yes to a session at Runamuk, you're not saying yes to just a few pretty photos. You’re saying yes to:
-
Seeing yourself through loving, empowered eyes.
-
Reclaiming the parts of you that have been buried under obligation, shame, or fear.
-
Stepping into a space where you don’t have to be anyone but fully yourself.
Confidence doesn’t lead. It follows.
You don’t say yes once you’ve arrived—you say yes to arrive.
This Is Your Invitation
As Runamuk celebrates 13 years, I’m not just reflecting on what I’ve built.
I’m reflecting on you.
Every woman who has walked into this studio—scared, excited, unsure, brave.
Every woman who’s trusted me to hold space for her transformation.
Every woman who’s said yes even when it felt easier to keep saying no.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time, it’s not coming.
But your power is.
And I’m ready when you are.
Say yes now.
Your future self will thank you.
